"YOU MUST BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD." Mahatma Gandhi

I did not choose the AVON 3-Day Walk For Breast Cancer, it chose me.

I realized that in my search for answers to the hard questions about life and death it was WALKING the trail around our neighborhood lake, during my third trimester of pregnancy, that sustained my strength and faith. My mother, Anita Phipps was losing her battle to cancer and I was about to have a child.

I knew that I had to "walk with my mom" during the end of her life. This road to the spirit world is full of love and remembrance. She died of cancer on Sept. 12, 1999.

Today, there are over 2 million breast cancer SURVIVORS in the U.S. Over 1 million women are undiagnosed at this time.

I feel strongly about making an effort to raise the awareness and the possibility that there may be a cure for ALL cancer if we share our experiences and ask for help.

I will walk 60 miles in 3 days, Boulder to Denver, Colorado on Aug. 2-4, 2002. This is a challenge that is miniscule to the challenge anyone faces when fighting cancer. WE CAN TRIUMPH!!

The AVON 3-Day Colorado Walk will change our lives and the lives of so many others through your faithful support and donations.

My guestbook is a source of encouragement and strength for me as well. Please take a moment to sign.
